Loan/Rental Policy for Assistive Listening Devices

 

EWCDHH is happy to be able to rent or loan ALD’s to businesses wishing to accommodate those

who may have a need of such for their meetings or the like or to individual members of the deaf and

hard of hearing community. The community is defined as:

· Any businesses and/or organizations that have a person with a hearing loss in need of equipment for a meeting, presentations, interviews or the like

· Organizations or businesses that wish to use the devices as demonstrations at fairs, booths or the like

· Businesses or organizations that wish to use equipment as a training tool

· Individuals who need to use such equipment

 

To be able to continue this service, we need to ensure that we have equipment in good condition and available for use when needed.  By signing the ALD Rental/Loan Agreement form, you agree to:

· Take care of the devices and accessories

· Bring back ALL devices, accessories, batteries and fuses

· Pay for any replacement of any missing device/accessories in FULL

· Pay for any repair costs related to damage to the device/accessories while in your possession in FULL

· Return the devices/accessories within the agreed upon date

· Late Fees – Late fees shall be assessed for any equipment turned in later than the agreed upon date of return.  The late charges shall be equivalent to the daily charges for each day late, dependent upon the type of equipment rented/loaned.

 

* Note: If you are a member of EWCDHH, you can get a discount on rental fees!

 

The criteria for rental/loan is as follows:

· Must have undergone a training session in the use of equipment

· Must provide the center with a driver’s license, picture ID or business card

· Must provide the center with a current address and phone number

· Must give a deposit fee in the form of  either cash or check that will be refundable upon return of devices and all accessories in satisfactory condition

· The batteries provided with the ALD are fully charged before being given out.  If they die while you are using the ALD, you will need to replace them.  Batteries are available for purchase through the Center if needed.

 

Who May Borrow the ALD?

  Deaf or Hard of Hearing individuals DO NOT pay a fee to use equipment, but do

 need to put down a deposit and are still responsible for any late fees, damages or

 replacements. 

Grange Members DO NOT pay a fee to borrow the assistive listening devices but do need to pay a deposit and are still responsible for any late fees, damages, or replacements. 

Any other persons wishing to rent the devices, may call the Center to find out costs to rent the devices.
